Wayward Strand

Wayward Strand is a moving and empathetic story game woven together from many distinct threads. All of them take place simultaneously on an air-borne hospital during the 1970s Australia.
In Wayward Strand you play as Casey Beaumaris, a teenage girl who is visiting Hospital for the first time. She’ll be exploring the story of the ship’s past, its individuals, and the bonds between them during the following three days.
On board, she’ll be able look around the cabins of the ship’s eccentric and wonderful residents. She will be able to choose whom she would like to spend the time with, as well as get acquainted with them. The staff can be shadowed and explore the space, or you can explore the ship to discover its dark past.
Residents of the hospital include an eclectic cast of characters that are all charming, some eccentric, some rude – every one of them with their own goals ideas, dreams and ambitions. Residents do whatever they want, independent from the persona of their character.
For the duration of the three days Casey stays on board and the other passengers live out their own stories as stories she will study. Each character moves and acts in their own way in their own way, according to their own personal timeline and sharing information with each other, opinions; arguing and joking, gossiping or chatting with Casey when she comes close.
Casey will explore the airship’s many stories and learn how her actions had an impact on them.
A Living World The stories are played out in real-time, alongside one another, all throughout the spaceship.
Be curious – listen or observe and then talk with your favourite character for a deeper understanding of their lives.
